A now rare example of a former manor complex with predominantly original substance is the Positz manor, which has a significant impact on the landscape. It was once used as a farm and later as a manor to maintain the Friedrichstein moated castle in Oppburg and was owned by the von Brandenstein family for centuries. The oldest parts of the building date from this time. Around 1550 a two-storey residential building was built in the corner of the complex, to which the baroque mansion was added at right angles in 1680. In 1755 the new owner, Count von Hoym, had the estate fundamentally redesigned and closed as a four-sided courtyard, the inscription on the gatehouse "I.G.G.V.H." - Julius Gebhard Graf von Hoym "still indicates this today. After expropriation, use by an LPG and for residential purposes, it fell into decline at the end of the 1970s. The situation only changed after the reunification of 1997, with the transition to private hands. From this time onwards, extensive renovations were carried out, also with the help of the German Foundation for Monument Protection. Today you can sit relaxed in the inner courtyard and enjoy the unique ambience with "food and drink", or you can spend the night.

Lonely manor with a wonderful view. The staff is friendly and attentive. The holiday apartment had a rustic ambience, is equipped with simple furniture, not always in the best condition. The second bed can only be reached in a very stooped position. The kitchen equipment is below average (no uniform dishes, only 3 large plates, no bread knife, ...) There is a small sandpit, two swings and a carriage for climbing for children. We know vacation homes with a much better offer. A stay at the Positz manor is definitely recommended, but not at the price asked.

The menu is very clear, so that you are done after three days. Basically I like these clear maps. But since the hotel is outside the town, an alternative is quickly lacking. Idea for the hotel kitchen: a changing daily meal.

We were here as guests of a wedding and fell in love immediately. What a wonderful ambience there is here. Simply great. Everything is wonderfully cared for and authentic. Despite two weddings, there were no points of contact and each company had its own place. The staff was great, helpful and courteous and very attentive and the food and breakfast were delicious. The rooms were also very attractive. All in all, you really can't complain and the 5 stars are more than deserved.

Apartment was great. The whole estate is characterized by great attention to detail. Only the rabbit attitude is very scary. There is neither enough space nor food available.

Remote hotel right by the forest with great breakfast! Has been restored with great attention to detail, a small playground in the courtyard and you can enjoy very good drinks there until late in the evening. There are also apartments for self-catering.

We celebrated our wedding in the manor and are just thrilled! Ambience, food, service. Everything just fits here. Once again, many thanks to the whole team! You are awesome! With you you feel really comfortable as a guest and you don't have the feeling of being disturbed. We will be back!

Beautiful property and great restaurant. We stayed in a very nice apartment for 3 nights. Our children had a lot of fun in the playground in the green area of ​​the inner courtyard. They were also very enthusiastic about the animals. The staff was very nice and competent. The landscape of the manor is magical on a hill with lots of nature around it. We will come back in any case!!!!!
